Here is a fun little section, that you can use to embarrass your friends or at least annoy them. The section is easy to use and not very sophisticated, but it is effective. I tried it with a couple of my friends and I understand they are real pissed.
It works like this. You enter the email address, Name and City and State, then choose a gender and a news story. The program sends them a message that someone referred a news story to them. When they open up the email they find it is a story about them. (My favorite is the stripper story) Some laugh and some get pissed. Who cares?
Unless you tell them you sent it there is no way for them to find out who it was. I can’t even tell them. The section is not connected to the site database, therefore there is no record of you, your name or your email address. We don’t even keep a record of who the original email was sent to.
Go try it out. Send the first one to yourself and see how neat it is. And then enjoy. The only tough thing is the basic information. I realized that I didn’t know how to spell the last names of some of the people I sent it to, and definitely had a problem with the exact city they lived in.
I’m still having trouble getting rid of the ugly box at the top of the page, so please overlook that. The author of the code for this, wrote it as an exercise in PHP, a computer language, when he was first learning it. He never bothered to make it look better, after all it was a homework thing.
I’ll keep working on it, and try to make it a little better looking. Also if you have an idea for another story or two, let me know. One thing I’ll have to do is put on a button to come back the here.
